Two lads from Wilmington
Lawn Lads is owned and run by Harold and Weston — two Hoggard High School friends who turned a summer of knocking on doors into a real business.
It started with one mower and a lot of doors
We met at Hoggard High School, became friends, and started cutting lawns together in 2023. What began as a way to make money over a summer turned into something we genuinely care about running well.
We’re still teenagers, and we’re still local. We grew up in these neighbourhoods, a lot of our customers are people we already knew, and our name is on the side of the trailer. That keeps us honest in a way a big company never has to be.
Every quote, every cut and every cleanup goes through the two of us. Nobody gets subcontracted your yard.

Meet the lads
Both founders are Hoggard High School students, and both are on the truck every week.

Harold
Co-founderHandles quoting, scheduling and keeping the routes running on time. If you called or booked online, you probably spoke to Harold.
Weston
Co-founderRuns the equipment and keeps the machines sharp and serviced. The clean edges and the stripes are usually his doing.
From a car boot to two Scags
We bought every piece of this out of what the business earned. Here’s what that actually looked like.
-
2023
Whatever fit in the car
We started with a handful of handhelds and a mower, loaded in and out of the back of a car for every single job. If it didn’t fit, it didn’t come.

-
2024
A truck and a real lineup
First proper truck bed setup — a full run of Echo handhelds, blowers and trimmers that could cover a whole day of routes without going home to swap gear.

-
Now
Two Scags and a branded trailer
Commercial Scag stand-ons on a dedicated trailer with our name on the side. Same two of us running it — just able to cover a lot more ground, a lot faster.

How we run it
Local accountability
We live here. Our customers are neighbours, and word travels fast in Wilmington — which is exactly the incentive we want.
Do it properly or not at all
We don’t offer chemical treatments, hardscaping or pressure washing, because we’d rather be excellent at four things than mediocre at ten.
Built to keep growing
This isn’t a summer job we’re winding down. We’re reinvesting in equipment and building something that outlasts high school.
